I received an envelope from Imperial Majesty Cruise Line Vacations (aka Ramada Plaza Resort) today.

Inside the envelope, there was a travel voucher worth $1300. I was promised 4 days & 3 nights at a Ramada Plaza Resort in Florida, another 3 days & 2 nights at another Ramada Plaza Resort in Florida, a 2 night Caribbean Cruise and 7 days transportation by Alamo Rent-A-Car with unlimited mileage.

Too good to be true? Well, you know how the saying goes.

This Ramada Plaza Resort scam is fairly well-known. In fact, back in 2005, I filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and also the Florida Attorney General upon receiving this scam. They acknowledged the complaint as I received a formal response from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

This “deluxe” vacation package consists of two sub-standard hotels and a very old, poorly kept ship. This “deluxe” vacation package also violates the following sections of the Sellers of Travel Act: 559.932 (Vacation certificate disclosure), 559.933 (Vacation certificate cancellation and refund provisions) and 559.9335 (Violations).

If you have been scammed by Ramada Plaza Resort, contact me using the comments section of this blog entry. I have enough legal documentation to get you a full refund.

Sure, I’ll e-mail you the required information. Julianne tried my method and reported that it worked for her as well.

    Hi,

Ramada seems to now be targetting foreiners such as I in Canada who had never heard of their scams. I purchased a package in dec07 and wish to get a refund…is it possible for me as a Canadian to still make a claim or do they have me because I live outside of the US? Many thanks for your help

    Hi
My friends has bought the same 2 centre + cruise vacation from a high pressured seller on the phone. He wants me to go with him. I have just checked it out and am encouraging him to get for a refund. (more than 30 days ago)
Please can you send my any info that would be useful to helping him get a refund

    Thanks very much

    Phil

I just ran across your blog about the Ramada plaza Resorts (Imperial Majesty Cruises). I was flat-broke, but managed to scrounge up enough money to purchase the same package that you had to surprise my fiance. Two months later, I am still broke AND reading DOZENS of posts of people who have been scammed by this company. The worst part? I spoke so highly of the “deal” that I received that SIX of my friends also purchased the package.
I sincerely don’t mean to bother you, however, could you please send me some of the legal documentation that would help get my money back? With the money that I spent, I might as well use it on a legitimate cruise with a reputable company.
Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated…by all seven of us on my end. Thank you!

I was a fool and purchased this package.
I first tried to cancel the package and was denied because I wasn’t within the time limit. I’m not sure if it was 10 days or 1 month.
I am now trying to resell the package on craigslist with no luck.
If you can offer any help I would be appreciative.
    Thank you
